
Dr. Kalpeshkumar L Gupta is law teacher and researcher and Ph.D. from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar. He is having around two decades of experience including industry and academia. He worked with Advocates, CAs, Tax Consultants, Company. Since 2010 he has been in the academic field. He worked as an Associate in Business Policy Area at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad for five years. He also worked as an Assistant Professor – Research and faculty coordinator of GNLU Legal Incubation Council (GLIC) at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar which is India’s first legal incubation centre. He played a key role in establishing the GNLU Legal Incubation Council. He also worked as an Associate Professor of Law and Coordinator of Technical Event Cell, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Pro Bono Club at Parul University, Vadodara. He also worked at Auro University, Surat, taught in Law and Management programmes. His areas of interest are law, management, public policy, RTI, entrepreneurship, startups, legal startups etc. He has guided 30 LL.M. students, 3 M. Phil. Students, 2 Ph.D. students and guiding 3 Ph.D. Scholars.
He has founded ProBono India, Legal Startups, Court Management in India, Law Teachers India, Real Estate Law India and Education Laws India which are India’s first of its kind platforms in India. Recently he was felicitated by Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, Hon’ble Vice President of India in the event of Excellence in Higher Education organised by Education Department of Gujarat for his initiative ProBono India at GNLU, Gandhinagar. He has participated in more than 60 conferences, workshops, seminars and presented and published more than 30 papers, research articles. He has conducted more than 100 workshops on RTI, Legal Startups and various other legal, non-legal subjects at state as well as at national level. He also completed projects of the Government of Gujarat and Department of Justice,m Ministry of Law and Justice. He believes in innovation in the legal field and has been in that direction. He has proposed the Court Management Authority Bill, 2017, Legal Education Bill, 2019, Legal Aid Index for reform in the legal field, Police Sathi Model which have been duly appreciated by
government and legal fraternity across India. He and His team have come up with 25+ Case Compilations and 25 Books so far and many are in pipeline.
He has conducted 50+ FDPs/Capacity Building Programmes/Short-term courses under the banner of ProBono India and Law Teachers India. His upcoming books are on Legal Startups, Law Teaching, Legal Aspects of Startups & Legal Aid to be published by Thomson Reuters.
