ORGAN DONATION IN INDIA AND GLOBALLY

Organ donation is the entire practice of retrieving human organ from a living or deceased person, who is referred to as Donor, and transplanting it into a recipient. The recipient will be a patient who is suffering from organ failure and who will not survive unless the person receives an organ replacement. The process of recovering the organs is known as Retrieval. Donation of an organ or tissue is to help someone that needs a transplant, to save the person’ s life. One donor can save up to seven lives and help many more through eye and tissue donation as well.
